Canon Powershot A630 substituted with Panasonic Lumix FZ38

Just in time for the upcoming Borneo trip, I decided it’s time for a change. Even if the Powershot served me well for two years, I think it’d be nice with some newer technology and better zoom. Just imagine you have an Orang Utan in a tree 20 meters away, but you hardly see him on the picture? After some weeks research and a hard battle between the Powershot SX20 IS and the Panasonic, some real life handling in a mall and the Camera Labs test by Gordon Laing (including his You Tube presentation) gave the Lumix an edge.

Sadly weather was too bad for serious tests, but be sure to check Flickr to see first results.
